California-based chain Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf continues their New York takeover this week, opening their second outpost (the first arrived in August) on the Upper West Side. And on top of the standard selection of Blended coffee drinks and fancy teas, this location will also offer some decidedly UWS-appropriate accommodations.

First up: there's a rent-able basement space for events, which houses a "kid's recreational room, with two touch plasma screens for gaming, tables for homework and coloring and a play area with toys, and plans to include ping pong and other similar games." They hope to see everyone from pampered toddlers to corporate bigwigs rent the space, though it remains to be seen how much use the "full A/V connectivity" center will actually get. It seems slightly odd that suits on the UWS would need a coffee shop for meetings, especially one that's simultaneously billing itself as a family-friendly hang, but hey, it's a rough economy out there.

This location will also have snacks (think "pretzel doughnuts" and jalapeno-cheese bagels) and a "Stir Bar," which is sadly entirely unrelated to cocktails—it's a make-your-own oatmeal station. Based on the raging popularity of the Midtown location and the cultish hold the chain seems to have upon its customers, expect this new location to be a hit right out of the gate.
