The total garbage year that was 2014 is finally coming to a close, and with it, so end all the delectable food events that have contributed to our thickening waistlines these past 12 months. The city's mostly focusing on New Year's Eve dinners and parties right now, but there's at least one exciting food event to keep you full well before the ball drops. Presenting...

...The 2014 Food Trends Dinner at Louro in the West Village. Chef David Santos is closing out his weekly Nossa Mesa dinner parties with this ode to all the fad foods we consumed this year, and it looks like a doozy. For $55, you get a seven-course tasting dinner, with dishes like hot and spicy Szechuan chicken wings, tacos, duck sausage and thai salad on tap. The dinner is BYO wine-and-beer, and kicks off at 7 p.m. You can make a reservation through the restaurant.

So..that's it! Stay tuned for more weekly foodstuffs in 2015, a year in which punch is expected to make quite a few appearances, apparently.
