It seems that Starbucks, the Commander-in-Chief of the anti-Christmas army, has recruited an important ally in its ongoing assault via coffee cup: McDonald's. This year's iteration of the fast food chain's annual holiday cup features a rather interesting graphic...

From a certain angle, the mysterious shape looks like a pair of mittens—which makes sense since "Warmest Greetings" is written on it, and mittens keep you warm. But maybe that's just what they want you to think while you sip on your holiday peppermint mocha frappé.

Wake up, sheeple. The TRUTH is much, much more immature.

"Our festive McCafé cups are of mittens, not hands," a McDonald's spokesperson told Gothamist. "The altered image circulating on social media is the result of someone getting a little cheeky and adding some hand-drawing to a cup."

Heh, "cheeky." McDonald's knows EXACTLY what they're doing with these cups. This is even more obvious than the time they introduced limited edition McBJ Sausage Sticks.
