2004_10_food_squash.jpgNorth Square will host a special Autumn Squash dinner celebrating New York’s fall harvest and the wines of Seneca Lake, New York at 7:30 on Wednesday, October 20. The menu includes squash prepared six different ways, including spaghetti squash soup, squash blossom empanadas, a roasted guinea hen with butternut squash cakes, and grilled baby lamb chops with pumpkin spaetzle. Price is $65 per person, and each course is paired with a Seneca Lake wine, including wines from Chateau Lafayette Reneau, Standing Stone, and Lamoreaux Landing.

If you'd like to celebrate on your own, Gothamist highly recommends this recipe for pumpkin, sage, chestut, and pancetta risotto adapted from Jamie Oliver. We've had it for the past two weekends and can't get enough of it. Mmm.
