Tomorrow is National Waffle Day (not to be confused with International Waffle Day, which the world celebrates in March). Obviously this is a perfect opportunity to enjoy that fluffy delicacy most waffle amateurs only order on weekends, and then wash it down with an invigorating shot of waffle-flavored vodka. Yes, the fine folks at Georgi are releasing a vodka that supposedly tastes just like waffles. Finally, no more judgement when we drench our breakfast with well liquor.

082312waffle.jpgThe owner of Georgi's parent company says, "It is four times distilled and made in the United States of America and it tastes just like waffles." And a Georgi's rep insists they "used just the right combination of spices to replicate the waffle flavor." You can be the judge of that tomorrow at Irish joint Kennedy’s Restaurant and Bar, which, in addition to offering waffles, will be serving traditional Irish breakfast items made with the waffle vodka (stuff like Bangers, Baked Beans, Irish soda bread, etc.) The vodka will formally debut there with a very special publicity stunt at 10:30 a.m.

Alternatively, you can just buy a handle of Georgi Waffle Vodka yourself and drizzle it on your Eggos in the comfort of your own halfway house. A 1.75 L bottle ranges from $11.99-$14.99, depending on the retailer. So budget-conscious!

Other waffle options on this sacred day: Midtown Lunch reports that the stellar Belgian food truck Wafels & Dinges will be offering free wafels in exchange for original drawings of bicycle-powered waffle carts. The truck will be parked on 49th Street and 3rd Avenue, where they'll host wafel-decorating, blindfolded wafel-eating, and crowning "the truck’s biggest fans, Miss and Mister Wafel (who will both earn unlimited waffles for a year)."

It doesn't end ether, no sir/ma'am. Here are our recommendations for great sources for waffle around NYC. And here's a grown man fighting a child for food.
