The cable food-ification of Times Square continues apace. Guy Fieri is hard at work on his restaurant and now comes word that Cake Boss Buddy Valastro, Jr. is set to open a huge Cake Boss Cafe inside the Port Authority. Yay?

Valastro, a fourth-generation baker whose 102-year-old Hoboken shop Carlos' Bakery is the show's base, has signed a lease for a mammoth 2,774 square foot chunk of the Port Authority's ground floor for $4.3 million. "The deal is good for three and a half years and also requires the cafe’s operators to spend $2 million revamping the future store, which has been vacant since 2000."

This is actually the second Cake Boss Cafe—there is already a small one in the Discovery Times Square (which Yelpers really don't like)—and comes as Valastro begins ramping up to sell his cakes nationally. All in all, another reason to avoid Times Square and the Port Authority. Though if they have those keg-shaped cakes that actually serve beer, we might be persuaded to drop by...
