Over the years, science has told many wonderful things about booze—a little tipple can help with everything from sunburns to aging—and now, a Brooklyn woman swears she shaped up with champagne.

Bay Ridge author Cara Alwill Leyba has just published The Champagne Diet, which she swears helped her lose weight by, uh, making her feel like a lady. “I felt really good when I drank it. I stood a little taller and felt classier,” she told the Brooklyn Paper. “I started working out more and taking care of myself more.”

Sure, her blog's heavy on the pink and she writes things like "Living the Champagne Diet does not mean you have to walk around with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot in your purse and a 10 carat diamond on every finger (although I’m striving for it)," but take comfort in cold, hard, Science: champagne is good for your heart and your brain, too!

Whether or not it will actually help you lose weight probably involves changes to your diet and exercise habits as well, but if you put your mind to it, you can one day end up just like Kate Moss.
