Everybody might love Big Ang, but not everybody loved her Drunken Monkey outpost in Brooklyn. The Mob Wives star's "speakeasy" club skewed for "the hipster crowd" has closed just one month after opening.
The Daily News reports that the bar, which opened in May, suffered from "financial setbacks," and closed its doors on June 6th. "They (staffers) went home that Friday night,” a source told the tabloid, “and just didn’t show up the next day."
We visited the bar—dubbed Brooklyn Monkey and located above Grimaldi's—on its opening night on May 5th, and were pleasantly surprised, though it didn't turn into our regular spot. And if you're heartbroken that the Brooklyn Monkey's gone, don't freak out yet: Big Ang say that the closure might not be permanent. "We’re having some little paper problems there, but it’s not closing," she told the Daily News. You can also hang with Ang 'n Friends at the original Drunken Monkey on Staten Island.
