Bed-Stuy's wonderfully eccentric eatery Do or Dine has closed. The team announced the shutter in a Facebook post last night, mirroring their website, which indicates they'll be "closed for the foreseeable future."

Responding to bereaved fans, the restaurant said: "Dreams > $. That's the long story short. Sorry again folks. We'll say more when we can. Right now it's just a bit tenuous. Thank you all for your patience and your love of what we do." The closure was first reported by Brokelyn; Chef Justin Warner had no further comment on the situation.

The restaurant opened on Bedford Avenue in 2011 and instantly because known for their foie gras doughnuts, even sparking a fun "rivalry" with Bushwick's vegan doughnut shop Dun-Well. The same year, the restaurant was listed on Michelin's coveted Bib Gourmand list, which celebrates eateries serving more reasonably-priced meals.

Warner, who was crowned the Next Food Network Star in 2012, continually turned out inventive dishes that eschewed pretension in favor of fun and flavor. We look forward to more of the same wherever he lands in the future.
