2005_07_bbqparty3.jpgWhen Gothamist friend and barbecue champion Adam Perry Lang of Daisy May's BBQ invited us to a party, how could we say no? It had been way too long since we had last enjoyed Adam's sweet and sticky Kansas City ribs and his tender smoky brisket, not to mention that we had to hear about his latest escapades.

Aside from becoming the Grand Champion at the BarbQlossal contest at the World Pork Expo in Des Moines last month, Adam has been busy taping his Iron Chef battle against fellow griller Bobby Flay (the episode debuts this Sunday -- set your Tivos) - in what we hear is an "epic" battle. 2005_07_bbqparty4.jpgIn between, he managed to throw a fabulous soiree drawing a crowd including author and food critic Jeffrey Steingarten (we didn't stalk him this time), restaurant magnate Drew Nieporent, and Ray Lampe (a.k.a. Dr. BBQ).

The event was sponsored by Stoli Persik, and the peachy cocktails were a perfect match for Adam's signature dishes and some inventive new ones he tried out that night, including a grilled shrimp with peaches and mint and a kobe beef burger. Ah, summer.
