If you thought the Great Hot Dog Bubble of the early aughts had blown its casings, you clearly haven't been to Crif Dogs at midnight on a Saturday. And soon there'll be another place to satisfy tubed meat cravings when Park Slope's Bark Hot Dogs opens an outpost on Bleecker Street in the Village, according to Grub Street.
The team takes over the former Back Fence venue, which shuttered last year; we'll take fancy hot dogs over a bank branch any day. At the new spot, expect Bark's version of a green-chile cheeseburger, a brown butter pecan milkshake and the intriguing "DIY condiment center," which will hopefully include a molten cheddar sauce fountain. Gotta dream big!
