Eater reports that two frozen yogurt spots—one in Park Slope, one in NoLita—have shuttered for good of late, following a string of fro-yo joint deaths all over town. Is the Fro-Yo 'splosion finally following in the footsteps of Big Cupcake?

Apparently, Park Slope lost a Yogurtland outpost on Tuesday, just a little over six months after a YogurBerry (yes, these are their names) closed its doors in the neighborhood. And over on the Big Island, a 16 Handles outpost on Lafayette Street called it quits.

This is news, if just because it seems to be following a trend. Bowery Boogie reported earlier this week that in addition to the 16 Handles shutter, four Pinkberry outposts have closed up shop, including the once hotly-anticipated DUMBO location.

And so, frozen yogurt spots once tasked with forcing out mom & pop shops are, in turn, finding themselves forced out, as is the retail circle game. Fad foods can only last for so long, so watch your backs, juice presses!
