Summer Restaurant Week is over and for once it is staying over. Sort of! While in past years the city has extended the prix fixe promotion to the point where we started to wonder if the organizers at NYC & Company knew the definition of the word "week," this year they are trying a twist on the old extension idea. Everybody say hello to NYC Go Prix Fixe. It is sort of like Restaurant Week... but it goes for almost a month!
Like Summer Restaurant Week, NYC Go Prix Fixe is a dining event that gets together a whole lot of restaurants (many of which participate in Restaurant Week) and get them to agree to offer three-course lunches for $24.07 and dinners for $35. Simple! And like its sibling, there are some nice spots participating, including Boulud Sud, Brasserie Pushkin, Capouto Freres, Colicchio & Sons Taproom, David Burke Townhouse, Kin Shop, La Fonda Del Sol, Le Cirque, Michael's, Nobu, One If By Land, Two If By Sea (good for a date night if nothing else!), Rosa Mexicano, Shun Lee Palace, Telepan, Yerba Buena and more.
And who are we to complain? If you are going to go out for a fancy meal, why not avoid paying through the nose? NYC Go Prix Fixe's prix fixes run from August 13 through September 3. Do be careful and check this list before you make your reservations, however, as not everyone is offering the deal for the same meals.
