We used to think that composting was something only people with back yards could do. But one day, while browsing the Department of Sanitation's website, we found that New York City has several resources for composting both outdoors and indoors. While the NYC Wasteless site has an informative brochure (PDF file) about how to compost indoors, we wanted a more comprehensive guide on how to set up a worm bin. We reached out to the NYC Compost Project in Brooklyn hosted at Brooklyn Botanic Garden where Compost Educator Luke Halligan and Project Manager Jenny Blackwell demonstrated how anybody can start composting indoors with a worm bin.
