A few members of the crew from Tilda All Day, which closed in September after ownership squabbles, have reopened the space as Otway. Samantha Safer and Claire Welle have tapped an all-female team to run the kitchen—someday this will just be normal and awesome, but until that day, it's noteworthy.
That team will be responsible for breaking down and creating everything that's served, from in-house butchery to fermentation. "There will be offal and there will not be signature dishes," they promise.
With that in mind, the current menu offers dishes including Pea Croquette with Lardo ($12), Fried Tripe ($10), Pan Roasted Perch with potatoes and buerre blanc ($25) and the alluring "Cheese with seasonal things" ($12).
