wine.jpgCongrats, you’ve made a full recovery from the holidays and you’re ready to get out there and drink away your New Year resolutions. Luckily, you picked a good week for wine, food and debauchery...

With all that’s going on in the city this week, how is one to choose? Well Gothamist has picked out some great events at a range of prices. Time to bust our your calendars...

Monday: Food and Wine at District
Event: District Restaurant Presents the Fritz Vineyards Wine Tasting Dinner
Locale: District, 130 West 46th Street
When: 7pm
The Damage: $75
Details: We know we are asking a lot by suggesting an event in the black hole known as the theater district but you know we wouldn’t do that unless Murray’s Cheese was involved. This event begins with a wine tasting held by the Fritz Vineyard owner Clayton Fritz and then moves into a four course food and wine pairing.

Tuesday: BBQ and Wine
Event: Vino-Versity: Red, Hot & Spicy
Locale:Divine Bar West, 236 West 54th Street
When: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
The Damage: $35 Advance tickets ($45 at door)
Details: What would Tuesday be without BBQ bites and Zinfandel - we don’t even want to think about it. Gothamist has been to Vino-Versity at the Divine Bar before and it’s a great way to try some new wines, nosh and do something different with your friends (you’ll have them at barbeque).

Wednesday: A toast to New York
Event: Tasting at Vintage’s wine bar
Locale: Vintage New York, 482 Broome Street and 2492 Broadway
When: Any time until 9pm
The Damage: Taste five wines for $5.00
Details: Vintage New York is a wine store dedicated solely to New York Wines - I know what you are thinking - but there are some excellent wines produced right in our backyard. At the small investment of $5, a trip to Vintage is a great way to experience the best of New York - and isn’t that what Wednesday’s are all about?

Thursday: Indian Food and Wine
Event: Spicy Club: Authentic Indian Cuisine Wine Dinner
Locale: Gandhi Indian Restaurant, 345 6th Street
When: 7pm
The Damage: $50 per person (minimum of 3 people required)
Details: We all love the mango lassi to wash down our Indian food, but if you like to mix things up- this event features unique wines to bring out the flavor and spices of Indian Cuisine. This four course food and wine pairing should be a great way to heat up your Thursday night.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday: Wine Tasting, The big event
Event: Tastes of the World Pavilion, at the New York Luxury Show
Locale: Jacob Javitz Center, 655 West 34th Street
When: 10am - 6pm (11am - 4pm on Sunday)

Details: Where else in New York can you nibble on caviar, chocolate and exotic delicacies while sipping award winning wines for $15??? Enough said.
