Opening "softly" tomorrow, A Voce Columbus is the new big sister location of the cozier A Voce in the Flatiron District. The original location made a big name for chef Andrew Carmellini, who is currently saving Robert De Niro's restaurant reputation at Locanda Verde in the Greenwich Hotel. Then came chef Missy Robbins, who joined A Voce after her tour as Executive Chef at the Obamas' favorite Chicago restaurant, Spiaggia.

The 38-year-old Robbins, originally from New Haven, says the food at the new location, tucked away within the Time Warner Center, won't differ "conceptually" from the original. The menu, described as "contemporary Italian," will preserve old favorites like Cassoncini and the Funghi al Forno, while also introducing new dishes such as the creamy Strachiatella; the Ravioli with taleggio, chanterelles and brown butter; and the Pancetta with pork belly, figs, balsamic and pistachios. All the pasta is house made, and, of course, the menu will fluctuate with the seasons.

The full menu will also be served for walk-ins at the bar, and many of the tables in the sleek, glassy restaurant come with commanding views of Central Park South. There's also an antipasti bar, offering cured salumi and charcuterie, marinated vegetables and an assortment of cheeses sourced from multiple regions of Italy.
