For those who love chasing an old fashioned with two cups of good, hot, black coffee, a new bar inspired by both Twin Peaks and Mad Men is set to open in Chelsea next month. Dubbed The Lately, the sprawling 3,400-square-foot cocktail bar will strive to be equal parts Madison Avenue and rural Washington state as it mixes modern and rustic aesthetics.

In a statement, LDV Hospitality and Den Hospitality described the new bar as "loosely modeled after an upstate cabin of yore, with a fireplace, playful wallpaper and modern flourishes—think Mad Men meets Twin Peaks."

Details on the new bar's TV mash-up vibe were first reported by Eater. According to the food blog, Den's Grant Wheeler will be in charge of the cocktail program, which will range from classic martinis to off-kilter originals to even more surreal drinks like coconut avocado margaritas and frozen negronis made with ube. DNAinfo also notes that craft beer, wine, hot dogs, and hot pretzels will round out the menu. All that's missing are the David Lynch-appoved milkshakes and crispy bacon. We have to imagine David Lynch would approve.

The Lately will open at 357 West 16th Street, in the former space of nightclub/restaurant No. 8, in March.
