Tatzu Nishi's sort-of controversial installation, "Discovering Columbus," will open tomorrow in Columbus Circle—but today we got a sneak peek.

During construction, a couple of New York tabloids tracked down some Italian Americans that were offended by the installation, calling it "an abomination," but for the most part, people seem to be indifferent. The installation is really pretty unique, and through November 18th it will be one of the most coveted "apartments" in the city.

To give viewers a closer look at the statue, a living room—complete with furniture and television and windows offering sweeping views—was built around it. Click through for a look—inside and out.
