If there's been one silver lining to emerge from this whole Anthony Weiner mess, it's the tantalizing prospect of The Shadow as our next mayor. According to a friend, 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin is mulling throwing his hat into the 2013 NYC mayoral race: “Alec said, ‘Hey, maybe this changes the race. The dynamics have shifted.’ The Democrats need a high-profile candidate, and Alec can fill that bill,” the unnamed "pal" told The Daily.

To add kindling to the fire, Baldwin's spokesman Matthew Hiltzik told the News, "I wouldn't rule it out." Back in January, Baldwin told CNN that it was a position he was "very, very interested in." Baldwin has stated his interest in a political position many times before (as both Senator and Governor), but with Baldwin leaving 30 Rock after next season, and possibly retiring from acting altogether, the timing may be right for him now.

But what about Baldwin's scandals of the past? Will voters be able to separate him from/put aside the infamous voice mail to his "rude little pig"? There certainly will be less opportunities for a good penis joke. Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men...but if you're looking for God, he was in operating room #2, and he doesn't like to be second guessed:
