We just got "Happy Friday"-ed by a publicist trumpeting the opening of Williamsburg's (and Brooklyn's) first J. Crew, an addition that furthers the Connecticutification of the neighborhood once beloved by artists, hipsters, and whoever came before them.

To get you stoked about their arrival, and their gingham shirts, they will be "welcoming the Williamsburg community all weekend long with food carts and special neighborhood offerings, including a limited edition Greg LaMarche for J.Crew tote bag." It looks great with some greenmarket veggies sticking out the top.

They will also be featuring art from local artists, who were likely priced out of the neighborhood a few years ago.

The 6,000 sq-ft space opened today at 11 a.m. and is located at 234 Wythe Avenue, which is a space I once saw the band Extra Life play back in 2009. Great show.
