Shia LaBeouf was arrested this week after getting into a scuffle with someone at his anti-Trump installation at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, and it seems the incident may have been the result of a concerted effort to disrupt LaBeouf's project. Racists and Trump supporters are reportedly turning to "secret chatrooms" on 4chan and Reddit to organize vicious troll attacks on him and other activists. #SAVESHIA. #SAVETHEWORLD.

As first reported by Buzzfeed, moderators on 4chan and Reddit are trying to stymie the flood of anti-Shia, pro-Trump trolls who feel newly emboldened to attack LaBeouf and friends following his arrest yesterday. LaBeouf, an aspirant activist, had hoped to change the world with his #HEWILLNOTDIVIDE.US livestream installation, a four-year project that invites anti-Trump folks to stand in front of a camera positioned outside MoMI and repeat "He Will Not Divide Us" as many times as they want. But as with all good things of late, white supremacists and Trump people have ruined it, shouting neo-Nazi rhetoric into the camera and holding up Make America Great Again signs.—in one incident, men in masks sliced up a stuffed animal in front of the camera, poor little guy.

This has caused poor LaBeouf to get into altercations with racists on camera. Yesterday, he was arrested after a scuffle with someone who allegedly made pro-Trump comments on the livestream, and it doesn't seem like it'll stop anytime soon. The 4chan and Reddit threads, which Buzzfeed says have been popping up since Saturday, are actively trying to take Shia down.

Pace yourself, Shia, it's going to be a long four years.
