This weekend's Tom Hanks-hosted Saturday Night Live was the best episode of the young season, and a possible instant-classic for post-2010's SNL. Everything worked: the political cold open skewering the third debate, Black Jeopardy with a Trump twist, the sad Transparent parody, the Girl's Halloween digital short, and best of all, everyone's new favorite Halloween spirit, David S. Pumpkins. And even the cut-for-time sketches were fun: below, watch as Kyle Mooney's Bruce Chandling gets upstaged by Hanks' fellow '80s comic Paul Cannon.

The spookiest question of them all: why do some of Mooney's best sketches keep getting cut at the last minute?
