The iconic blue whale that magically hovers over AMNH's Milstein Hall of Ocean Life is currently getting its annual bath. Our photographer Navid Baraty is on the scene and we'll have plenty of photos later, but you can also watch the cleaning process as it happens, via the museum's livestream (from 11:30 to 12:30 today).

The big job (the whale is 94-feet long and weighs 21,000 pounds!) falls to the Museum’s Exhibition Department, who use long-handled brushes and vacuums to wipe away dust and dirt from the fiberglass whale, which was installed in 1969.
