Last night Stephen Colbert began his show with a cold, cold, cold open. In classic animated Charlie Brown style—from the twirling "SPECIAL" logo to the Vince Guaraldi-esque piano—Stephen "Charlie Brown" Colbert trudges, head down, through the snow. And then he meets Santa, who voted for Trump: "It was the only thing Donald wanted for Christmas, my hands were tied!"

Real Life Colbert went on to discuss Trump's meeting on Tuesday with Kanye West at the Dark Tower; Rex Tillerson, the President-elect's pick for Secretary of State; Rick Perry, his pick for Department of Energy (which Perry once said he would eliminate); and, you know, a bunch of other shit we can't believe is real.

P.S. The real Charlie Brown Christmas Special will air December 20th, 8 p.m. EST on ABC (but you can also watch the full thing here anytime).
