Although she's won a Tony, stolen The Sound of Music Live

from Carrie Underwood and is starring in Nashville as Sadie Stone, Laura Benanti has been rolling up her sleeves by tackling some classic NYC jobs lately.

It's all to prepare Benanti for her role in Radio City Music Hall's new New York Spring Spectacular. The show features Benanti as a billionaire CEO who takes over a NYC tour company that she wants to turn digital. Of course, the tour company's employees want to show her how important seeing the sights of New York is... and yes, the Rockettes as well as elaborate sets are involved.

Here's a clip of Benanti "working" as a barista at Joe Coffee on the Upper West Side:

Derek Hough also stars in the show—he's part of a pretty cool dance sequence that has the Rockettes dancing the rain:

The New York Spring Spectacular also includes puppets—a huge talking Statue of Liberty features the voice of Whoopi Goldberg, and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler took on the voices of the New York Public Library's lions. It opens tomorrow night, Friday, March 27th, and runs through Sunday, May 3rd.
