While we knew he's been the recipient of Tony awards for his work on stage (he has a long Broadway, and off-Broadway, history), we didn't know that John Gallagher, Jr. (aka Jim Harper) was a non-Broadway musician... like one that we could see at a venue in New York, on a lineup with other bands. Sure, he picked up a guitar alongside Jeff Daniels during an episode of The Newsroom, but did you know he was playing Mercury Lounge back in 2008, under the name Johnny Gallagher?:
