Burroughs on SNL

This week William S. Burroughs would have celebrated his 100th birthday. Throughout his life he was many things—a writer, a painter, a spoken word performer, a poor marksman... and a guest on Saturday Night Live. Below is his appearance, which took place on November 7th, 1981—that's Lauren Hutton introducing him, noting it's his first ever television appearance.

Here's a much clearer, full color version (which is sadly not embeddable). [via Open Culture]
