Both The Late Show and The Tonight Show aired as planned last night—the latter was recorded before the Paris terrorist attacks, but the news broke towards the end of The Late Show's taping. Stephen Colbert apparently informed his audience during a commercial, then closed out the night with a brief, emotional monologue asking everyone to keep Paris in their thoughts and prayers.

“Folks, we end tonight’s show with a heavy heart because we taped all of tonight’s show, and then we found out about the horrific attacks in Paris today,” he said. "I know not much is known right now. We do know there have been many deaths and the crisis is still ongoing."

As of this afternoon, the Times reports 129 people are dead in the attacks and 352 are injured, 99 critically. ISIS claimed responsibility for the massacre this morning, but that claim remains unsubstantiated.
