New York's no stranger to sweeping aerial views, but one videographer armed with a quadcopter— a four-rotor pilotless remote-controlled plane— and a couple cameras captured some lovely images of the city, with shots ranging from the East Village to Grand Central Terminal to Times Square (and more!). PHANTOM FIRST FLIGHT from Nicolas Doldinger on Vimeo.

The video was made by Nicolas Doldinger, an NYC-based director and producer. But it looks like videos of cities are popping up all over the place these days: we've seen them over in Los Angeles, for instance, and someone circulated a quadcopter video of Bayside, Queens just a few months ago, though this one lacked the Wim Mertens soundtrack, sadly.
