Two years ago, it was announced that a musical about Tupac Shakur, Holler If Ya Hear Me, was in the works. It took a little longer to put it together than producers expected, but come June, the show will finally make its Broadway debut. And below, via EW, you can get the first sneak peek of what it'll sound like, with clips of "California Love," "Unconditional Love," and the title track.
The musical is directed by Tony nominee Kenny Leon, and stars spoken-word artist and rapper Saul Williams—you can see the full cast listing here. Previews will begin on June 2nd at the Palace Theatre, with an opening date set for June 19th. Don't expect any holographic cameos from the man himself—nor should you expect to see a depiction of the East Coast/West Coast rap war. You'll just have to wait for the inevitable Biggie musical for that.
