We first heard about The Queens High Line, or the Queensway, in 2011 when it was proposed that an abandoned 3.5-mile stretch of the LIRR Rockaway Beach line become a park... one that we hope one day becomes home to a sick hotel rooftop bar. Since then, the Trust For Public Land has been leading the way to make the project happen, but it's been criticized by those who want to make the line active again. However, later this month the non-profit will narrow down the contenders who submitted designs for the park proposal.
Before that happens, get a look at the outdoor space as is—recently Jeff Seal walked the entire length of the QueensWay, from Rego Park to Ozone Park, and filmed his adventure through a territory that hasn't been fully explored much lately.
