With Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton's heated debate Thursday night in Brooklyn, there was no doubt about what would serve as the cold open to this week's Saturday Night Live. What we didn't see coming was "real New Yorker" Elaine Benes being called upon to ask questions of both Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon) and Bernie Sanders (Larry David). When it started as just a debate spoof, it was pretty good; but when the sketch turned into a mini-Seinfeld reunion with bald insults, yadda-yadda-yaddas, and Costanza-worthy exclamations, it became pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Debate moderator Errol Louis was particularly pleased that he was portrayed by Kenan Thompson in the sketch (for "The Black Question"), so much so that he changed his Twitter avatar to Kenan today.
