Donald Trump is the host of what is sure to be an interesting episode of Saturday Night Live this weekend, with musical guest Sia. Check out the promos for the episode below, which feature squinty Trump shopping for VPs, Cecily Strong's wonderfully terrible Trump impression, and lots of FCC jokes. Because of equal time rules, Trump only has a chance to yell in one promo, "Ben Carson is a complete and total loser!"

In case you haven't been paying attention to the hullabaloo around this episode, a lot of people are very upset that SNL and NBC are giving Trump so much free air time (and generally playing nice with a man who most rational people recognize is a racist, misogynist clown). There have been petitions and entreaties to drop him from the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, the California Latino Legislative Caucus, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and even Rep. Luis Gutierrez, who called out Lorne Michaels by name and asked on the House floor "if things might have been different if Donald Trump was calling all Canadians rapists, murderers and drug dealers."

But that might not matter, since Trump seems to think he and Michaels are best buds: "It started off as a skit, and I said 'Alright, I’ll do it,'" Trump told CNN about his upcoming appearance. "When they took it up to Lorne Michaels— who’s an amazing guy, he’s run Saturday Night Live brilliantly for many years and he's a friend of mine— he said, 'Well wait a minute, he’ll do the skit. Will he do the whole thing?' And he called me and said, 'Will you host Saturday Night Live' and I said, ‘'It’s an honor.'"

So it doesn't seem like Michaels is going to suddenly come to his senses and decide that maybe giving an extra platform to an orange-tinted ratings bonanza is a bad idea any time soon. Let's just hope the actual episode is harsher/funnier than Trump's mean girl-routine against Carson: "Ben Carson would’ve done Saturday Night Live in two seconds if they asked him," Trump said in another interview this week, adding that even if he did host, "Nobody would watch."

We live in a strange world when one megalomaniacal racist's sorta-funny-but-mostly-mean one-liners against his equally-dead-inside opponents is making me feel sympathy for the world's stupidest brain surgeon and foremost Nazi analogy-weaver.
