His highness Steven Patrick Morrissey was welcomed on The Colbert Report last night in the most Morrissey-appropriate intro line: "Are you read to ROCK...yourself back and forth in the shower while crying?" Among other things, Colbert did his part to try to reunite The Smiths—Morrissey's response: "Not everyone is a fat old slag". The two also discussed his dislike of the British royals and his militant vegetarianism. Watch it below.

While Morrissey was in the studio, he insisted that the Colbert staff eat only vegetarian food, which sent Colbert into bacon withdrawal. It also got Colbert philosophical, pointing out there's a thin line between "meat is murder" and "murder is delicious." Below, check out the two songs Morrissey performed: the relatively new (and as yet unreleased, due to the fact he can't get a record contract) "People Are The Same Everywhere;" and "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris" from 2009's Years Of Refusal.
