We usually take our Philip Glass with mushrooms or the New York Philharmonic exclusively, but this performance of a piece from Glass's 1997 opera Monsters of Grace, "The New Rule," by a "flash choir" in Times Square is lovely (they're like "flash mobs" but you don't want to kill them). Why couldn't those a capella groups in college sing this instead of "Pour Some Sugar On Me?"

NPR tapped Kent Tritle to direct the choir, which according to the Times, warmed up with some Mozart, Bach, and Handel before ripping Glass. Sadly, the drunk Elmos calling for "Freebird" must have been edited out.
