As promised, Bill O'Reilly completed the TV guest prisoner transfer agreement with Jon Stewart and appeared on The Daily Show last night to plug his new book, Pinheads and Patriots. The interview wasn't funny as Stewart's appearance on The O'Reilly Factor last week, in part because Stewart was a much more gracious host, welcoming the Fox host onto his show with music and rose petals. But it's good for a laugh nonetheless, especially then Stewart describes his experience walking out of Fox headquarters, which he calls "The Temple of Doom." Not so funny is O'Reilly cracking wise about killing Stephen Colbert with a Predator drone strike.
During the interview, O'Reilly said he has no plans to run for office, and offered to ally with with Stewart to fight corruption. "What, did you just propose gay marriage to me?" asked Stewart. "Man must not ally with other man. I read Leviticus. I actually read the Bible quite frequently. I like to scare my kids before bed." The proposed alliance did not extend to Stewart's upcoming Rally to Restore Sanity; O'Reilly refused to attend, telling Stewart, "You and Colbert don’t want me to come, because if I come, then there'll be a big crowd, and you won’t get any credit... Let's let Stewart and Colbert stand on their own four feet."
