Stephen Colbert welcomed his youngest guests ever last night when Brooklyn tween metal band Unlocking The Truth appeared for an interview and performance. The group, who signed a $1.8 million two-album recording contract with Sony earlier this year, discussed their favorite 8th grade classes ("Nothing," said drummer Jarad Dawkins), their upcoming EP Free As You Wanna Be, and the origin of the band's name. "Kids think that they can’t do anything because that’s what other people tell you to do, but if you look past that and just believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything you wanna do," said guitarist/singer Malcolm Brickhouse.

Below, watch them hammer frets into submission as they perform "Monster."
