Gothamist is pretty tickled by the New York Times' use of animals in Santa hats to encourage readers to get NY Times home delivery as holiday gifts. After the very end of certain articles, there's a link to buying home delivery, accompanied by a photo. The photos rotate, sometimes there's a gift box, sometimes a giftwrapped newspaper, and then sometimes there's a cat or dog in a Santa hat. While Gothamist is not sure if we want to give the gift of NY Times home delivery, we are encouraged to put Santa hats, Santa suits, and reindeer antlers on all four legged friends we have.
