[UPDATE:] As of 12:15 p.m. day 3 of the Governors Ball music festival has been cancelled "due to severe weather and a high likelihood of lightning in the area." Sunday single ticket-holders will receive a full refund, and those who purchased a 3-Day Pass will be given a partial/pro-rated refund, organizers said in a statement posted to the festival's website. "The safety of fans, artists and crew always comes first," festival management wrote.

Refunds are expected to be processed within the next three weeks.

Earlier this morning, festival management delayed doors time and promised to update fans before 12:30 p.m. That update has now come, and fans will unfortunately miss out on Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie, and many other great acts scheduled for today.

"At Gov Ball, our top priority is your well-being and the well-being of talent and staff. If weather conditions are deemed unsafe for the festival, Sunday’s show will be delayed or cancelled," Gov Ball management had said in an online post late Saturday night after two strong rain showers had already drenched attendees and turned earthier portions of the grounds into deep and treacherous mud pits. NBC New York forecasts heavy thunderstorms for today in addition to strong winds and localized flooding.

The worst of tonight's weather, CBS 2 notes, will likely hit at 8 p.m.—just before Kanye West had been scheduled to close out the weekend on the main stage.
