Not one of the countless dioramas we ever made as school kids looked nearly as good as the ones artist Lori Nix has made and photographed for her show "The City," currently on view until December 18th at the ClampArt Gallery. Instead of doing what most people these days would do to create images of a post-apocalyptic city—y'know, Photoshop 'em—Nix and an assistant built each diorama by hand in her Brooklyn living room.

Each diorama comes in at roughly 20x24x72 inches and took from two to fifteen months to build! You can see all twenty dioramas on the artist's website.
