Is there any indignity more pronounced than having to relocate the premiere of your gritty action film because the theater in which you planned to host it got bed bugs? Here is a grim reminder that no one—not even Patricia Clarkson, not even you—is immune to the vagaries of nature.

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, a film featuring Effy from the UK television show Skins, the small lovelorn British child from Love Actually, and other assembled randos scraped from the Game of Thrones cast, was slated to premiere at Times Square's AMC Empire 25 multiplex on Tuesday. The trailer suggests some sort of pre-apocalyptic dystopia featuring teens, and a review from the AV Club suggests lots of running!

But because you can't run from bed bugs, the premiere is being forced to relocate to Regal Cinemas across the street. How mortifying.

AMC released a statement, saying “At AMC, we take aggressive, proactive steps, including regular inspections and inspections any time a bedbug is suspected. If any inspection comes back positive, the affected area is treated the same day...by pest control.”

AMC is just one of the many venerable institutions, including the U.N. and this blazing car, to have caught bedbugs this year.
