Three civil lawsuits against former Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash have been thrown out by a Manhattan judge today. Clash, you'll recall, has been sued by multiple men who claim they were sexually abused by Clash when they were minors. One accuser claims that Clash, then in his 40s, plied him with alcohol and performed oral sex on him when he was just 16. Another alleged victim, Cecil Singleton, sued Clash for more than $5 million, accusing Clash of having sex with him when he was 15.

Singleton's lawsuit, as well two others, were dismissed today by Federal Judge Kevin Koeltl, who ruled that all three lawsuits missed the filing deadline. "The complaints in these cases were filed more than six years after the defendant's conduct with each plaintiff ended," Koeltl wrote in his decision. He also found specious the plaintiffs' explanation that they didn't discover their injuries until last year, ruling that "they were aware of the facts that while minors, the defendant had engaged in sexual activities with them in violation of one or more federal statutes."

The AP reports that one lawsuit is still pending.
