The Morbid Anatomy Museum, which opened almost exactly one year ago, hosted a six hour summer event yesterday which fittingly featured everything from cat skulls to human teeth. And pretty much everyone who's into that sort of thing crammed into the museum's basement after waiting an hour on line to see the goods, and take some home.
There were only around nine vendors at their summer flea market, but each offered large spreads of oddities. Ryan Matthew Cohn was on hand with his osteology and antiquities; Daisy Tainton offered up insect shadowboxes and mourning rings; Amber Jolliffe Maykut sold her taxidermy; Elizabeth New was there with her abject housewares; and Margaret Cross with custom memento mori jewelry.
