Last year Rue McClanahan died in New York at the age of 76, leaving Betty White as the last remaining Golden Girl, and now items from her estate are being sold off at auction. Life is depressing.
Anyway, as OUT Magazine says, this means you can "do a little last-minute holiday shopping for the Golden Girl on your list... you'll find the perfect technicolor Christian Lacroix jacket, carved ethnic bench, or bronze bust of Hypocrites for the Blanche Devereaux freak in your life."
Hutter Auctions, who hold the gavel, say the items are "from her apartment on East 56 Street as well as personal memorabilia from her Broadway and Television career including items from her role as Blanche Devereaux on the Golden Girls." The full lot is here, and personally, we've got our eye on some pretty reasonably priced Swatches.
Reportedly McClanahan "wanted fans to have access to her personal property—including her costumes—after her death. And her son Mark Bish is arranging several auctions across the U.S."
