Earlier this year, we presented our case for why the Law & Order noise between scenes is "chung-chung" and not the other stupid descriptors (not "doink doink," "dun dun," "bong bong," "thunk thunk" etc.). And an opinion has been issued in our favor!

In the NY Times' feature on Law & Order creator and executive producer Dick Wolf, Amy Chozick writes, "Wolf — whose name is so tethered to television drama that just hearing it evokes an ominous chung-chung sound in many viewers’ minds — is branching out."

Obviously the Times has settled on "chung-chung" as the definitive noise, after years of confusion.

Next stop, Merriam-Webster's!
