Gothamist first saw Langhorne Slim about a year ago at a small folk night in the East Village. We caught him again at Pianos where he was the musical performer at the Invite Them Up's taking place there in May. Of course, we had heard his music way before any of that. We'd say he falls under that alt-country category, but as a whole is uncategorical. Working in the sounds of jug bands, folk and his own brand of charisma-rock, we're pretty sure he'd be on high rotation on our iPod if we were ever to hitchhike cross country. But we're sticking around for a while, so we've been enjoying catching some his energetic live shows - and even booked him for out Movable Hype show tomorrow night. Last week he took some time out to answer some of our questions.
