Cry, dammit.
There was a time when "Next on Mad Men" previews were completely vague, emotionless vignettes from the upcoming episode. Humorous, almost, in their unwillingness to give you any hint at what was to come. For the final episode ever, however, Matthew Weiner has gone the sentimental route with this finale trailer. Vox says it will make you cry, but it's emotionally manipulative treacly bullshit, at best. The clip show-esque promo looks like something a fan made and put on YouTube, right down to the song: Paul Anka's "Times Of Your Life." (Could they not afford the rights to "Cat's in the Cradle"?)
