The Central Park Conservancy Film Festival returns this month, with four nights of free outdoor movie screenings in the heart of Central Park. Presented by Bloomberg Philanthropies and in partnership with the Museum of the City of New York and the Museum of the Moving Image, this year’s festival celebrates great New York films and filmmakers.
Pack a picnic and catch these classic films every evening from August 14 through 17:
Tuesday, August 14: Hair - 1979 (PG)
Wednesday, August 15: Crooklyn - 1994 (PG-13)
Thursday, August 16: Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb - 1964 (PG)
Friday, August 17: The Muppets Take Manhattan - 1984 (G)
All screenings will take place in the landscape between Sheep Meadow and the 72nd Street Cross Drive. Gates open to the public at 6:30 pm with pre-show programming and music. The movies begin at dusk. All movies will be closed captioned. Find more information here.
