Last night we were told that the Secret Machines were playing a (secret?) show at the Apple Store in Soho at 10pm. We didn't go, and haven't heard a thing about it. Did it happen, was anyone there? We need closure.
Other not so secret events at the Apple Store are coming up that also have our interest piqued.
Legendary Master of Music Photography: Bob Gruen. Gruen is one of the most well known and respected photographers in Rock ‘n’ Roll. Seriously, all of those photos you recognize of the Sex Pistols, the Clash, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, John Lennon, Bob Dylan...are probably by him.
He's giving a slide show tomorrow night, April 8th, from 7 to 9pm.
Later this month, starting April 22nd to coincide with the Tribeca Film Festival, the store will be hosting a special series of presentations to show how filmmakers use professional applications on a Mac to write, edit, and produce films. It's like your own personal Project Greenlight 101.
Everything is free (except you'll probably leave with a stronger desire to purchase that iBook). The Apple Store is located at 103 Prince Street.
UPDATE: The Secret Machines did play, check out photos here.
